Key Stage 3
Pupils follow the revised NI curriculum in Science. Biology is taught as part of a General Science course in Years 8 and 9. Biology is taught as a separate discipline in Year 10.
Key Stage 4 (GCSE)
This is divided into three units:
Unit 1 - Cells, Living Processes and Biodiversity
Unit 2 - Body Systems, Genetics, Microorganisms and Health
Unit 3 - Practical Skills (Controlled Assessment)
GCSE DOUBLE AWARD SCIENCE
The Biology component is divided into three units:
Unit 1 - Living Processes and Biodiversity
Unit 2 - Body Systems, Genetics, Microorganisms and Health
Unit 3 - Practical Skills (Controlled Assessment)
The majority of our Key Stage 4 Biology pupils study Double Award Science.
Key Stage 5 (GCE)
Biology is the study of living organisms which includes their structure, functioning, origin and evolution, classification, interrelationships and distribution.
